About Tequila
Tequila is a distinctive spirit made from blue agave, primarily produced in the region surrounding Tequila, Mexico. Known for its bold character and rich heritage, tequila is crafted from agave plants that take several years to mature before harvesting and distillation.
There are two main categories of tequila: Mixto and 100% Agave. Mixto tequila contains at least 51% agave, while 100% Agave tequila is produced entirely from blue agave, offering a more authentic and refined flavour profile.
Types of 100% Agave Tequila
Blanco (Silver)
Fresh and unaged, Blanco tequila delivers the pure and vibrant character of blue agave with a clean and crisp finish.
Joven (Gold)
Joven tequila combines youthful tequila with added flavour or colouring, resulting in a smoother and slightly sweeter profile.
Reposado
Aged in oak barrels for several months, Reposado tequila develops a smoother texture with subtle notes of oak and spice.
Añejo
Aged for a longer period in oak barrels, Añejo tequila offers deeper flavours, greater complexity, and a more refined character.v
Extra Añejo
Matured for an extended ageing period, Extra Añejo tequila is rich, smooth, and crafted for a premium sipping experience.
